Island Cars
As some of you know Cindy and I bought 1 car when we moved here and have shared it (sometimes successfully some times frustratingly) since then.
Well now that Cindys job has started up and she is working daily we need another car.
We stopped in San Pedro Sula and shopped for cars there on our way back from the states. We saw some nice new cars but they were too expensive to pay cash for. We found some nice used cars but when we really started to inspect the ones we liked and could afford we noticed they seemed to good to be true. It turned out that some of the cars on the lot had dealer info from Louisiana so we got scared by that. No one wants to buy a Katrina car that has been flooded out.
Roatan does not have a lot of inventory and we just have not seen anything locally that we thought was a good fit for us.
So this week I went over to La Ceiba and shopped. The Toyota dealership had no used cars and the new ones were too expensive and the financing was not possible due to our Residency still being in process. Then I checked out the Nissan (Grupo Q) dealership. Raphael Montoya was easy to communicate with and we found a couple of good options there.
Nothing is finalized just yet but it has been an interesting process and a little bit of fun. Hopefully in a blog in the near future I can show you a picture of a new car for Cindy. Till then I am showing you the car of a local Architect and Designer. Great island concept but maybe not as fun in the rainy season.
