National Association of Realtors Show in Las Vegas

Earlier this month I was one of five realtors that got to go to Las Vegas for the National Association of Realtors convention. Our goal was to represent the Roatan Realtors Association and promote Roatan and the Bay Islands of Honduras.

The show was attended by over 30,000 realtors and was a very exciting event. The Roatan Realtors association had a booth (see picture above) in the international second home pavillion. We got a lot of traffic and for the most part people had either not heard of Roatan or had kinda heard of it.

Our normal pitch was to ask them if you had heard of the island and if not tell them where it was and how easy it was to get there with the recent additions of direct flights from the USA and other countries. From there we would hand out our list books for properties for sale and answer any specefic questions we might have gotten.

I got quite a few real estate leads that will hopefully turn into referral or investment customers.

In addition to this the show had plenty of great speakers and seminars on real estate and property management that gave me a lot more exposure to the industry.

Just as imporatnt my fellow realtors (I was joined by Steve Hasz, Phil Weir, Ed Dumonceaux and Scott McDonald) and I hit the town dining to our hearts content. I have great reviews for Bouchon at the Venetian, Stacks steakhouse at the Mirage (try the hot rocks), as well as another good meal at La Famma in MGM (you have to give the white truffel lazagna a taste).

Another fun after work experience was the new Cirque De Solei Show at the Mirage. The Beatles Love is definitely worth going to. I just loved it. We also got in a nice day of Golf at Rio Secco in Henderson. A very nice course and a challenging layout.

All in all a great trip for business, learning and of course some well deserved R&R.
