Senora Cindy (jeffa of the island)
Many of our friends and family ask Cindy are you working yet? The answer finally is YES! Hooray.
When we arrived in Roatan a great opportunity for Cindy popped up almost immediately. The Galindo family who own Anthonys Key Resort among other things had a new project they were building on Osgood key across from Coxen Hole and the cruise ship dock.
The project they were creating is a cruise ship attraction. Osgood key is a small island and on half of it they have created a private beach, snorkeling pier, huge pool, gift shop, photo shop, swim with the Dolphin area, bar and restaurant. So cruise ship passengers can opt to go on the Osgood key excursion and enjoy a day on this private island.
The Galindos approached Cindy about the project and asked her to put a proposal together on what she can offer in terms of management services for them. She put a great proposal together and a deal was struck.
So for the last few months the construction on the key has been ongoing and Cindy has helped here and there with organization, layout and ordering of product. But this week she started full time and is the General Manger over the operations at Fins and Flippers on Osgood Key.
I got to take a tough of the island with her this morning and have to say its pretty cool that my wife takes a boat to work (check her out on the dock being dropped off in the pics above). Once on the island she showed me the large photo shop where customers can buy photos and videos of dolphin encounters. They also have a 3000 sq ft gift shop they are setting up with all the appropriate clothing and souvenirs.
I was really impressed with the pool and bar area. The whole area is built up higher than the surrounding area and the pool is gigantic and has inlayed tiles that make it look like a NEMO fish (very cool). All around the pool there are large areas to layout, or sit around and enjoy the views.
The whole island is really nicely landscaped and has many quiet areas for people to hang out and feel like its their own private island. They also have a pier that most be 50 or 75 yards long out into the ocean. This is great so you can walk to the end and go down the steps and snorkel. Your very close to the reef so its really convenient.
All in all its a beautiful attraction and Cindy is going to do a great job creating memorable experiences. Hope to see you all down here so you can check it out in person soon.
