Meet Hector
Meet Hector. The story of Hector is a pretty interesting one. Last summer we rented a house to a lady who needed a rental for her Husband that was living on the mainland but did not like San Pedro Sula and wanted to come to Roatan instead.
When Hector moved in he was the biggest pain the ass we had dealt with to that point (his record has since been broken but that is another story). Hector would call and give me shit about the power being out or the internet being down or why can't we get more channels on the TV etc..
It turned out Hector was very use to and comforftable with the comforts you would find in the USA. You see Hector lived in the USA for 17 years and had a dozen or so crews that worked for him and his wife at thier painting company in South Florida they did custom homes, track homes etc.. In fact the company is still going strong but Hector you see like a lot of tax payers in the USA did not have his papers in order.
He was young his mom was sick and his family needed money so he took a chance and made his was through Mexico and into the USA. He as generations before him did went to work and built a better life. His wife and children are all US citizens but he never got his papers to work out and eventually it caught up with him and they deported him back to Honduras were he was from.
Now he is caught between two worlds. His wife and kids work and live in Tampa and run the family busienss. Hector lives in Roatan and does a little bit of painting down here. He had the wife ship down one of his vans and enough equipment for a crew.
As I was handling all of Hectors little issues and trying to get him the expanded direct tv package he desired I found out about his story. He showed me some of the painting work he had done and I hired him to pressure wash and paint my house this summer.
The work was US quality all the way (so was the price) but you never had to worry about it and the job got done ASAP. Since then we have done quite a few jobs together and he has always been great to deal with.
Funny how a hemroid can turn into a friend
