Ultimate Hermit Crab

I am sure everyone has seen the trick out my car and truck tv shows. Evidently this move to customize and modify has reached the animal planet as well. This hermit crab has decided to forgo the normal "Shell game" and has taken on a light weight, very durable PVC plumbing piece for its new abode.

You never know what you will see. My buddy Gene has been seeing this modified little guy hanging around his carport for the last few months. He told me about it but it really was something you had to see to believe.

Power Outages puts us in the fuel delivery biz

As everyone that reads the blog knows, Roatan is not doing that well in terms of infrastructure as it relates to power. Recently the demand has been much higher than the supply (Some of the generators at the local plant are broken) and we recently got a notice (1 hrs worth of notice actually) that they were turning our office off the grid and we were on our own for power. Luckily our office is in the west bay mall which we manage and we have a full backup generator that can run everything no problem.

That all said the generator needs its daily feeding and as you can see in this picture we are now hauling the fuel to feed the unit. Currently she is burning a little over a half barrel a day.

Earthquake felt in Roatan

Last Saturday night Cindy and I were laying on the couch watching TV (I know tough to imagine I would be doing that).

We felt the whole house shake and then stop and were like what was that. Well after thinking about it for a second and going outside I said Earthquake. Turned out the next day after talking to some other folks they felt it too.

This AM I checked the earthquake site at www.usgs.gov and confimred things.
